Dior Designer, John Galliano Spits Racist Rant

Many years ago it was rumored that designers, Tommy Hilfiger and Liz Claiborne were racist and did not intend for black people to wear their clothes. The rumors seemed to come out of no where and stuck with the designers for years. Claiborne was even accused of going on the Oprah Winfrey Show with such ignorance and having to be escorted off the show, however none of that turned out to be true. Well now it seems that a major designer for the Dior brand has crossed the line with his racist rant.

John Galliano, was the creative director for Christian Dior, until he was suspended by Dior after being filmed at a cafe in the UK recently saying, "I love Hitler" and, "People like you would be dead. Your mothers, your forefathers, would all be f**king gassed." This all took place while he was in the middle of an argument with a couple at the La Perle bar, were he was eventually arrested for assault and making anti-Semitic remarks on last Thursday.

Remember this SOB?!

First listen to what this SOB had to say about him and George W Bush erasing the country's surplus that we had when these SOBs went into the White House, compared to the deficit we have now because of their selfish and arrogant managing of the country's finances.

Gov. Mitch Daniels (R-Ind.) is known as a strong fiscal conservative. He was the first budget director for President Bush that managed to bring the country's budget from a surplus (that began during Clinton's term) to a budget deficit. Daniels is having to explain his role in the mismanagement of OUR country's budget that ultimately led to a collapse of the financial institution, because he is considering running for president in 2012.

Chris Wallace asked Daniels, "When you came in, this country had an annual surplus for the first time in 30 years of $236 billion. When you left, two and a half years later, the deficit was $400 billion. You were also there when President Bush launched his Medicaid drug benefit plan that now cost $60 billion a year. I know there was a recession, but do you think it was wise -- at a time when we were fighting two wars -- to have two tax cuts and launch a huge new entitlement?"
Daniels' response was, "It was a recession, two wars and a terrorist attack that led to a whole new category called homeland security," he said. "So nobody was less happy than I to see the surplus go away, but it was going away."
But it was only going away because the Republicans were looking out for the 1% of wealthy individuals in this country and not for the country as a whole.

So now Daniels is try to distance himself from the Bush administration and had this to say to Chris Wallace on his Fox New show this morning, "Chris, I was proud to be part of that administration. Yes, I think the original tax cuts were good and timely and helped the economy to recover very very quickly from that recession. But if you want to know what I think about fiscal issues, don't look at 2 1/2 years when I was in the supporting cast with no vote. Look at six years where I was in a responsible position, submitting budgets and fighting for them. There's the record that I think is most accurate."

David Leonhardt of the New York Times wrote that Daniels "badly underestimated the cost of the Irag war." The governor has said Leonhardt's comment was unfair because he was "asked to estimate only the cost of the brief occupation that military planners expected, not to estimate the length of the occupation that would be needed."

But to that Leonhardt wrote, "I think the bigger question is why, as budget director, he did not try to prevent the Bush administration from turning a big surplus into a huge deficit -- not just through the war, but through tax cuts and other policies, too," and that, "If he runs for president, that question deserves to be a big part of the vetting of Mr. Daniels by the media, his opponents and the voters."

"Can I be candid? I don't like all of Tyler Perry's films. Yes, I did work with Tyler for 'Daddy's Little Girls' because it portrayed a positive image of a black father. Making Black History This Week: Jamal Sims

"What a week..Choreographed the new song 'MAS' on the Ricky Martin Tour earlier this week, started working with a new boy group that's about to blow up Justin Bieber style! Was a guest speaker at USC for career day. Now just got home to relax..ahhh. Have to get ready to go to the Oscars on Sunday and Oprah on Monday! Living the dream......"
-Jamal Sims (FB quote/status update of the decade, keep doing it big Jamal!)
Jamal "Jamizzi" Sims is a good friend that has achieved some incredible accomplishments in his life and career. I think it's wayyyy pass time that the world knows of his contributions to entertainment and the world. You may recognize him from working with Michael Jackson, Toni Braxton, Miley Cyrus, N'Sync, and so many others, but read on to see how creative Mr Sims really has been.

As you can see from the quote above, Mr. Sims, has had a awesome busy week that is very inspiring to hear about. But what many do not know is that he takes time to give back to his friends and family and this past Sunday he decided to teach a group of untrained friends how to dance to choreography. I was blessed to participate in this training session that gave us all a true feel of how difficult it is to learn and teach choreography. But prior to this week Mr. Sims, accomplishments stretched far and beyond what many would have ever imaged.

Jamal has been the artistic director and choreographer for numerous films like the newly released Big Mama's House: Like Father, Like Son, starring Martin Lawrence, also the soon to be released Footloose remake and last years Step It Up 3D. This weekend Jamal will also be the artistic director behind the choreography for the 2011 Academy Awards, teaching the hosts, James Franco and Anne Hatheway how to move and look cool on stage. His accomplishments go on and on, but this young man has made major contributions to entertainment and it's way pass time for more light to be shined his way.

Jamizzi have a blast at the Oscar's and know that we'll all be watching...CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

Intersexuals Are Born With Male and Female Organs

Gay, Straight, or Intersexual? Some people are born with both sexual organs so who should they marry; a man or a woman? God doesn't make mistakes, yet many will say have surgery to "correct" the sex of a intersexual a.k.a. hermaphrodite. It can be a physical, emotional, and spiritual challenge for many people born this way. Society has tried to cut-up intersexuals, change them, or discriminate against them and do everything except, accept them. So I would like to ask the nay-sayers and judges to ask themselves what would God do, especially since he made them this way?

Facebook Now Has A Relationship Break-Up Notifier

BREAKUP NOTIFIER Facebook Break-Up Notifier is out there and in full affect. Advertised as an amazingly simple way to keep tabs on that special someone--who happens to be dating a special someone else.

What it is: Jumping off of Facebook, Breakup Notifier lets you log in, check off the friends you're interested in, and then emails you once they're no longer taken.

That's really it.

How it works: Program developer Dan Loewenherz explained the idea to the Huffington Post in an email:

I got the idea on Friday night when my fiancee and her mom were talking about a guy to set up with my fiancee's sister. Unfortunately, said guy was taken...so I asked them if they would want to get notified when he broke up. It was kind of a joke actually, but they loved it, and so on Saturday I spent about 4 hours building it out. I didn't really tell anyone until yesterday.

I hope that people use it for good and not evil--it's merely practical. If you're going to check someone's profile every day, you might as well get rid of the tedium and have the changes get delivered right to your inbox instead. When people don't list their relationship status, Breakup Notifier reads it as "Unknown". So if someone changes, you'll get an email like the following:
"Hi Shirley,

Joe Shmoe has changed his relationship status to "Single" from "In a relationship". Get on it!

Best,
The Breakup Notifier"

Breakup Notifier has one application, so far -- it tells you when someone has broken up with their boyfriend/girlfriend/wife/husband/etc, as long as the breakup happens on Facebook.

One person writes in to the apps homepage to say, "great idea. this is actually how my wife and i met. no joke. i had just ended a long relationship and changed my status on facebook. she noticed and started messaging me."

So next time you're having a fight in your relationship over Facebook, don't say you weren't warned.

Introducing Facebook's Competition, RenRen

One of the first social networking sites in the world to go public may be an unknown quantity for even the most avid tweeters and Facebookers: Renren, a six-year-old company that has been dubbed "the Facebook of China."

Renren's rumored initial public offering, which will reportedly take place in the United States later this year, marks the rising stature of China's homegrown technology sector and provides a window into the unique set of challenges facing Internet startups there.

At the same time, Renren's IPO ambitions highlight China's evolution from follower to trendsetter. Though Renren was initially a Facebook clone, offering equivalent features and even a matching color scheme, China's social network appears to be leading the way as it preps the stage for a slew of expected IPOs by better-known brands like LinkedIn, Groupon and Facebook.

Launched the year after Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg's "thefacebook.com" went live, Renren, then called "Xiaonei," was at first available only to college students. The site was sold to holding company Oak Pacific Interactive in 2006 and has grown to over 160 million members as it has worked to expand its user base beyond campuses.

Though conceived as a Facebook knockoff, Renren has displayed remarkable innovation and adaptation, launching new features and offerings that are tailored to Chinese users and distinct from those of Zuckerberg's site.

As Fast Company noted in a profile of Chinese startups, Renren has been far more aggressive than its Western counterpart in pushing social gaming and advertising, a tactic that appears to be boosting the company's bottom line. Renren claims it grew ad revenues by more than 100 percent in each of the last two years.

"China's social media has a long tradition of borrowing heavily from what's happening outside, then adapting it," explained Thomas Crampton, Asia-Pacific director of Ogilvy's 360 Digital Influence, a social media marketing service.

Given the many public clashes between Chinese officials and U.S. companies struggling unsuccessfully to make inroads in the world's most populous nation, outsiders might assume the Chinese government, with its blocks, firewalls, rules and censors, represents one of the most formidable challenges faced by China's social networking sites, which ostensibly give voice to the masses.

Beijing has a robust arsenal of tools it uses to maintain its "Great Firewall" and crack down on online services and conversation it perceives as running counter to Party interests. In the hopes of preventing the protests in the Middle East from spreading to China, the government recently blocked searches for terms like "Egypt," prevented users from sending messages or posting updates online containing phrases it deemed sensitive, and disabled certain functions, such as search, on social networking sites.

Even Renren was not immune: the Wall Street Journal reported that "status updates with the word 'Jasmine' [a reference to a post calling for China to lead a 'Jasmine Revolution'] were met Sunday with an error message and a warning to refrain from postings with 'political, sensitive ... or other inappropriate content.'"

In the past, the government has gone so far as to shut off sites entirely, including as Fanfou, a Twitter-like service launched by Renren founder Wang Xing that was blocked in 2009 after riots shook Urumqi.

But some business experts downplay the risk China's government poses to these social startups, all of which are subject to some level of state intrusion, and argue that the greater threat comes from the industry's ever-more-numerous competitors.

"Government censorship is a level playing field for anybody who operates here," said Richard Robinson, a tech entrepreneur working in China. "I would say the challenges [facing Renren] have much less to do with the government and are much more about the ferociously competitive environment here."

China-watchers predict that the kind of draconian rules Chinese officials impose on Facebook and Twitter, both of which are blocked in the country, will not dramatically hamper the fortunes of Chinese sites like Renren, which focus more on entertainment -- though it's unclear how their users will fare when forced to deal with censorship and service interruptions. These online networks are not exempt from censorship and other restrictions, yet they are perhaps more accustomed than outsiders to negotiating Beijing's bureaucracy and its many stipulations. Cooperating with state censors is the norm and the cost of doing business.

Redundancy, not government crackdowns, is most likely to keep China's entrepreneurs awake at night.

Whereas Facebook is virtually without peer in the United States, China has a slew of social networking services, from Twitter-like microblogging sites to bulletin board systems buzzing at all hours with activity, all battling for their share of the world's populous web market. Renren faces competition from a host of other "Facebooks of China," such as Kaixin001 and 51.com, and new rivals are constantly joining the playing field: Major portals, such as Sina, Tencent and Baidu, will frequently clone successful startups, rather than acquire them, then drive traffic to their own versions of properties like Twitter and YouTube.

"People often think of China's Internet culture as a collection of warring states," said Guobin Yang, a sociology professor at Barnard specializing in Asia and the Middle East. "The Chinese Internet sector is more diversified: you don't have a Facebook that dominates the whole social networking scene. In China, it's usually quite a few of these sites competing with one another."

Competition may be fierce, but Renren and its rivals all stand to benefit mightily from China's huge and growing online population. The world's most populous country now boasts around 457 million Internet users -- roughly one and a half times the total population of the United States -- and they are choosing to express themselves online in ever-increasing numbers.

"The usage of social media in China is off the charts relative to almost any country in the world," Crampton said.

NOTE: A previous version of this post stated that Renren would be the first social networking site to go public. In fact, Xing, a "social network for business professionals," previously filed its IPO in 2006.

News Reporter Attacked in Sacramento by Mourning Family.

Two news reporters attacked in Sacramento, CA., while trying to report on the killing of a 27 year at an IHOP restuarant. The weird thing is that the family who attacked the reporters are the murdered victim's mourners. After watching the tape it seems like a misunderstanding started with one upset girl and grew into an altercation that left a camerawoman being pulled to the ground, reportedly by her hair and stomped in the face. The more interesting thing to me is that the murdered victim was killed after a fight at the IHOP and apparently his mourning friends and family didn't think enough to WAKE THE UCK UP and learn from his violent situation that took place only hours earlier.

Oprah's Proteges Now

Wednesday many Oprah viewers got a chance to see first hand what it's like to cross the Queen of Media. She had her former protege Relationship Guru Iyanla Vanzant on her show to hash out their differences and to clear up misunderstandings that took place eleven years ago. So this evening I came across an interesting story on what has happen to all of Oprah's proteges and were Iyanla could have possibly been had she communicated more with Oprah before her departure from Harpo Productions. The article was written by Hillary Crosley and listed all of Oprah's proteges except Nate Berkus, whom I'm assuming was left out by mistake. Now please don't get it twisted, Oprah is no god and doesn't control all of media. She has built a impressive empire that has played a key part in launching many other successful ventures that once included Iyanla Vanzant. I believe both women are smart business women and that Wednesday's meeting was only the beginning of a new profitable relationship. Check out what Crosley had to say about each protege below:

Gayle King: She's best friends with Oprah and if you looked up "play your position" in the dictionary, her photo would be there. For her years of service, Gayle has become the Editor-At-Large for O Magazine, influential in producing Oprah's Legends weekend, has her own 'Gayle King Show' and regularly hangs out in the lap of luxury. We dare to assume that Gayle's remained O's one honest friend that also keeps her hip. Did you really think Oprah liked Jay-Z? Please, that's so Gayle-ish.

Dr. Phil: Born in Oklahoma and raised in Texas, Dr. Phil McGraw had his own psychology practice with long before he met Oprah. Their paths collided when the host was sued by the beef industry in Texas and Dr. Phil consulted her case. She was so impressed that she invited him to be a Relationship and Life Strategy Expert on her show in 1998 and the rest is history.

Phil played his position.

Suzie Orman: Suzie is the financial darling of middle (and city) American women everywhere. With frugal saving tips, Orman's been O's go-to money woman since 2007's "Can I Afford It?" segment. While Orman had her own books and CNBC show before her "Oprah" appearances, she now boasts a column in O Magazine as well as a spot on OWN's weekly "Ask Oprah's All Stars" show alongside Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz.

Suzie played her position.

Dr. Oz: Born in Turkey, Dr. Mehmet Oz excelled at school and earned a scholarship that emigrated him into the United States. He graduated from Harvard University, became the Vice-Chair and Professor of Surgery at Columbia University. Oz began appearing on "Oprah" for the "Ask Dr. Oz" segment in the early 2000s for five seasons before debuting "The Dr. Oz Show." Oprah admitted on Wednesday's show that she took five years to shape Oz for his own venture.

Ozy played his position.

Rachel Ray: After years of perfecting her '30 Minute Meals' segment on CBS, chef Rachel Ray signed a production deal with Oprah in 2005 to create her own show. Her many appearances on 'Oprah' created a larger audience for her solo opportunity and she's been quite successful. From her own show, she's also launched her self-titled magazine, racked in numerous endorsements and has gone on to produce a Mexican FOOD Network show, "Viva Daisy."

Rachel played her position.

Lisa Ling: Beginning her broadcast journalism career as a teen in Sacramento, California, Ling is most well known for her stint as a co-host on "The View." Leaving the show in 2002 to do international reporting, the journalist began as the Oprah Show Investigative Reporter a few years later. Now, Ling's secured her show "Our America with Lisa Ling" on the Oprah Winfrey Network, where she delves into the stories of extraordinary everyday people.

Lisa played her position.

Iyanla Vanzant: As Oprah said yesterday, "I gave you my stage!" Vanzant had the self-help and relationship world in the palm of her hand but seemingly negotiated herself out of Oprah's good graces by choosing to produce her own show with Barbara Walters instead. "The Iyanla Vanzant Show" was canceled after one season and over a decade later, the mighty woman looked to be pining for O's forgiveness on international television.

Iyanla... didn't play her position.

Word of the day: Libation

Word of the day: Libation. Definition: 1. The act of pouring a liquid (usually wine) either on the ground or on a victim in sacrifice to some deity; also, the wine or liquid thus poured out. 2.A beverage, especially an alcoholic beverage. 3. An act or instance of drinking. Ex: On Fridays after work many people gather for libations to which many restaurants call Happy Hour.
